Happy Birthday Hilda Dokubo

Hilda Dokubo is a Nigerian award-winning film actress, activist, and youth advocate who previously worked as Peter Odili's special adviser on youth affairs.

Hilda Dokubo was born as the first of six children in Buguma, a town in Asari-Toru, Rivers State, and attended St Mary State School Aggrey Road and Government Girls Secondary School for her primary and secondary education.

Her father was an engineer and her mother was a teacher. She graduated from the University of Port Harcourt with a bachelor's and master's degree in Theatre Arts.

Dokubo made her acting debut in the 1992 movie Evil Passion when she was serving in the young military. Since then, she has appeared in and produced several Nigerian movies. Gone Forever, End of the Wicked, My Goodwill, and The CEO.
Dokubo received Best Actress in a Supporting Role and Best Actress in the Comedy Category at the 11th Africa Movie Academy Awards after playing a supporting role in the 2015 movie Stigma. In 2019, she appeared in the film Locked, a narrative about raising awareness of mental health. She is the director of the Center for Creative Arts Education (CREATE), a non-governmental organization that uses the arts to empower young people and women.
