Dr. Awele Elumelu was born on the 23rd of June 1970, and she is 52 years old today.
Awele Vivien graduated from the
University of Benin where she studied
Medicine and Surgery. As a medical doctor, she worked with the Lagos University Teaching Hospital. After she left LASU, she proceeded to the United Kingdom where she worked with Grantham and District Hospital.
As Tony Elumelu is to business and entrepreneurship in Africa, so Awele Elumelu is to healthcare in Africa. As the founder and CEO of Avon, a long chain of clinics and healthcare facilities, Awele has proved herself to be just as relevant and needed in her household as she is in the African healthcare scene. Keep in mind that she is a mother of seven. Talk about a superwoman.
