He completed his First School Leaving Certificate and West African School Certificate in Ibadan, Oyo State
In 1996, he started his own film company, Segun Ogungbe Films.
He was pressed into the limelight after he produced the movie Ibi Giga where he played the lead role.
Since then, he has produced movies such as
Agartha
Baba Arugbo
Ologbo Iya Ijebu
Ila Owo, etc.
Segun Ogungbe is a nephew to the renowned legendary actor and filmmaker, Akin Ogungbe, who passed away on November 28, 2012, leaving behind 20 wives and 50 children.
He is a polygamist. He has two wives. They are Atinuke Ogungbe an actress and a make-up artist, who he married in 2000. While in 2015, he married Omowunmi Ajiboy, a fellow actor.
